How to Prepare Your Property For Your Appointment

Residential Property

Thank you for choosing us for your property photo shoot! To ensure the best results, please follow this checklist to prepare your residential property, whether it's a single-family home, Airbnb, or condo:

Residential Checklist

  1. Lighting and Windows

    • Turn on all lights.

    • Open all window shades and untie the curtains to let in natural light and show the view outside.

  2. Driveway

    • Remove all cars from the driveway.

  3. Clutter Removal

    • Remove any unwanted items from view, so they don’t show up in your listing photos, such as:

      • Trash cans inside the house and trash bins outside the house

      • If you want photos inside the garage without the trash bins, please remove them.

      • Personal Belongings

      • Notes and letters on the fridge, table, etc.

      • Hygiene and cleaning products (shampoos, toothpaste, etc)

  4. Wires

    • Hide any visible electrical wires.

  5. Prop Styling

    • Complete any prop styling before the photographer arrives.

  6. Personal Items

    • Remove personal photographs, family portraits, and personal memorabilia from walls and surfaces to help depersonalize the space.

  7. Excess Furniture

    • If a room feels overcrowded, consider temporarily removing some pieces to make the space appear larger.

  8. Pets

    • Temporarily remove pet belongings (toys, litter boxes, food bowls) and ensure pets are not in the frame during the shoot.

  9. Bedrooms

    • Ensure the bedding is arranged to your liking, with clean and wrinkle-free bedsheets.

  10. Bathrooms

    • Store away toothbrushes, toiletries, and personal hygiene items.

    • Keep surfaces clean and free from clutter.

    • Make sure the shower hose is neatly arranged, not tied awkwardly, and styled as you want it to appear in the photo.

  11. Kitchen

    • Clear countertops of small appliances, dishes, and cookware to leave the space as clear as possible.

  12. Laundry Room

    • Remove laundry baskets and personal items.

    • Ensure the washer and dryer are tidy and free of clothes.

  13. Closets

    • Ensure vehicles do not obstruct the view.

  15. Outdoor Spaces

    • Clean up outdoor areas, including patios, decks, and yards.

    • Remove any debris, gardening tools, or children's toys.

    • Ensure lawns are well-maintained.

  16. Personal Decor

    • Remove unusual or highly personalized decor that may not appeal to a broad range of buyers.

  17. Clear Pathways

    • Ensure hallways and pathways are clear and unobstructed for easy navigation and a sense of flow.

  18. Windows and Curtains

    • Open curtains or blinds to let in natural light and showcase outdoor views.

    • Clean windows to ensure they sparkle in the photos.

  19. Lighting
